Then it`s on to a time travel trip circa 1998 for a recreation of the original Countdown to Extinction, with multi camera video including long missing visual effects and the original audio narration that was changed at park opening. Go back to 1996 to see the changes made to Epcots Energy pavilion – both inside and out. See the big problem in the summer of 1996, why the original show returned from the dead, and see all the issues of showing the old show with the new infrastructure including a non-Radok preshow.

Back to present day, have a look around the exterior of the 2009 pavilion, then see the full preshow shot multi angle and flicker free with a clean live / ALD audio mix. Walk into Theatre One, and begin the trip with a full theatre one show shot multi angle and flicker free with a clean stereo live / ALD narration audio mix. Journey through the diorama for complete multi angle / clean live audio coverage, arrive in Theatre Two for the K-NRG radio loop, then see the full Theatre Two film again shot multi angle and flicker free and again with an ALD/clean live audio mix, followed by the Theatre One finale transition and films, again shot Multi angle, flicker free with clean live / ALD audio. Here is the first of a multi part WDW Adventureland and Frontierland history series. It made sense to produce a video showing the history of these 2 attractions since they are both connected, and indeed exist, due to the third attraction also featured in the video – the never built Thunder Mesa and Western River Expedition.

Beginning in the late 60`s see the designs and proposals in detail for Thunder Mesa and its 2 E Tickets, Western River Expedition and Big Thunder Railroad. Follow the plots and concepts of both rides, plus the Mountain, before arriving in 1971 and the reasons behind and the designs of Pirates of the Caribbean. Following this is a full concepts, layout and construction section of the Orlando version, followed by a full multi angle enhanced and remastered edit of the 1973 ride with a new stereo source audio/clean live audio mix. Next, see the history and design of Caribbean Plaza and then jump forward 5 years for the reasons behind and full concept and construction coverage of Big Thundermountain Railroad – and how Western River was nearly built again.

Follow the design and layout of Big Thundermountain, and take a multi angle trip aboard the wildest ride in the wilderness. Next, follow the changes made to both attractions since 1973 and 1980, then see what took place in Pirates of the Caribbean during its major 2006 refurb. This is followed by a full multi angle, stereo source/clean live audio mix ride of the current attraction including full queue coverage. Finally, take a tour of modern day Caribbean Plaza, see the additions made for The Pirates League, what parts of Thunder Mesa were actually used and finish with a night time ride on Big Thundermountain.

The differences between Perrin and Cronkite, Cronkite and Irons, and Irons and Dench. Also see changes made over the years to the post show area. Next see the work done to bring the attraction into the 21st century, and then board your Time Machine Vehicle for a full 22 minute ride through of the latest version detailing every show scene from 8 video angles with a source / Induction / ALD / clean live audio mix. Finally, take a full tour of Project Tomorrow.

Inspired by a very interesting and revealing thread in the WDWMagic.com forums, here is an as-good-as-I-can-make-it re creation of the top of Spaceship Earth from the Cronkite era. Starting in the Cinema and TV lounge scene, take a multi angle video and new audio journey through The Computer (boys room) and the Office, the Hi Tech Communications Center and into 180top itself, with enhanced video, complete with original Earth projection, satellites and astronauts in full, the space station with animatronic robot arm control girl at her window, then the full descent with laser effects and wonderfully stylised early 80`s projections of the Tomorrows Child finale. It doesn`t quite have Industrial Light and Magic standard effects, but this should give a good idea of how the second half of the attraction appeared to guests in the late 80’s and early 90’s. I have to point out I’ve simulated some of the ascension, space and descent scenes (using various methods from smoke guns at work to photoshopped still images being videoed to making my own monitor footage) but the results are all based on period sources and descriptions from 1982-6. Together they should show what Spaceship was like to a guest on October 1st 1982.

Now the vid – starting at the concept stage from when the ride was mainly behind a domed building, track the development through design and construction to the dedication ceremony. Then take a 1982 multi angle ride, using re -edited Cronkite version video footage interspersed with the aforementioned clips I produced. Features a restored 1982 recording of the full Vic Perrin voiceover too.
