Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril DLP by Martin

by on Oct.07, 2023, under Adventureland, Disneyland Park (Paris), Disneyland Resort Paris

Go back to 1992 and see how the overcrowded park decided to handle the crowds with various versions of an Indiana Jones attraction. See how the ride was designed and built, and the changes made since opening and then take a full shot in 4K tour of the area, queue and ride itself.

Phantom Manor – Martins 2022 Ultimate Tribute

by on Oct.29, 2022, under Disneyland Park (Paris), Disneyland Resort Paris, Frontierland

Phantom Manor – Martins 2022 Ultimate Tribute from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

3 years ago I did a Phantom Manor ride edit. Taking the basis of this, I decided to see if I could improve it. 31 rides later and I have a whole new shot-in-4K edit.

Start with a look at the history of the attraction and it’s storyline, then take a close look at every major change made in the 2018 rebuild. Following this is a detailed visit to the attraction, starting outside in the garden and through the whole Manor and out and around Boot Hill Cemetery. I tried to cover every detail inside and outside including closeups of things often missed. Picture quality is much better than my previous edit, and I tried with each shot to present things as guests see them on the ride – not too dark and not too bright. Audio is a brand new, better quality mix with more source than before too. Finish off with a walk around the manor and the cemetery at night. At an hour long I hope you think this is one of the most comprehensive looks at the attraction to date.

Enjoy!

Disneyland Paris 30th Anniversary with Dream… and Shine Brighter by Martin

by on Aug.06, 2022, under Disneyland Park (Paris), Disneyland Resort Paris, Main Street, U.S.A., Parades, Fireworks, and Shows

To celebrate 30 years of Disneyland Paris, the park runs 4 times a day (heat allowing) this parade / stage show anniversary extravaganza. It features dozens of performers, a parade up Main Street, 4 main stages plus the hub, amazingly energetic dancing and stunning choreography, and a pumping music track that squeezes so many songs into one show.

Start by looking at the anniversary park decor and the Gardens of Wonder in front of the castle, then take your place for the impressively lavish parade / show. Shot in 4K from 10 different angles I covered as much of the action as possible including all 4 stages. Audio is a very good quality clean live mix from 6 sources to ensure I got each stage audio track when appropriate plus the parade and underliner. I hope you enjoy this great ambitious piece of entertainment.

Next take a peek at the castle fountain show, then as the sun sets take your spot for D-Light, the 30th drone, fountain and projection show that precedes IllumiNations, again shot multi angle with a carefully mixed audio track to eliminate as much crowd noise as possible.

Happy 30th Disneyland Paris!

Disneyland Paris – September 2021 by Martin

Disneyland Paris – September 2021 by Martin from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

The last for now of my trip videos, something I’d prepared for family and friends before we caught covid and so a video that’s finished and ready to share – given the popularity of my last few trip videos I hope you enjoy this one too. In September 2021 we were lucky to enjoy 3 nights and 4 days in Disneyland Paris in the lovely autumnal weather. Take a look around the nice Hotel Cheyenne and enjoy highlights of both parks when they were relatively quiet before the winter season began.

Disneyland Paris November 2021 trip by Martin

by on Dec.22, 2021, under Disneyland Park (Paris), Disneyland Resort Paris, Walt Disney Studios Park

Disneyland Paris November 2021 trip by Martin from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

Given the popularity of our DLP 2020 trip video I was considering releasing this too as a Christmas treat. A tour of the resort and both parks with a look at many attractions in the winter of 2021, and six friends meeting after several years for a big birthday celebration.

Over the last week Michelle and I have both been suffering hugely from Covid. To say it’s not nice is beyond an understatement. So I’d like to show this edit not just as a tour of the parks in winter but also as a reminder to enjoy every day you can. Don’t take anything – or anyone – for granted. And please be safe.

The timeframe – and testing – suggests we caught covid back in the U.K. and not at Disneyland Paris. We found DLP to be a safer environment than anywhere back home in the real world.

Disneyland Paris Christmas Season 2021 by Martin

by on Dec.04, 2021, under Disneyland Park (Paris), Disneyland Resort Paris, Walt Disney Studios Park

Disneyland Paris Christmas Season 2021 by Martin from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

Hot off the press! Only shot this week! Start off in Hotel New York – Art of Marvel to look at the holiday decorations then walk over to Disneyland Parc for a look at the amazing decorations from the entrance to the castle. As night falls cross to Walt Disney Studios for a look at the decorations there, then it’s back to Disneyland for a look at the breathtaking night time decorations.

Then – Mickeys Dazzling Christmas Parade. The all new parade fantastic at night time. First, take a front row view and take in the full parade as it passes along the parade route, shot multi camera with a clean live audio mix. Follow the parade into central plaza (the hub) and see the full four stage show stop performance with Sleeping Beauty Castle as a backdrop. Next follow the parade down Main Street for a highlights showing of the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. All video is still of course multi camera.

Finally leave Town Square and return to Hotel New York via Disney Village to see the holiday decorations at night.

Happy holidays!

Pirates of the Caribbean – Martin’s 2021 Ultimate Tribute – part four Paris

by on Oct.09, 2021, under Adventureland, Disneyland Park (Paris), Disneyland Resort Paris

Pirates of the Caribbean – Martin’s 2021 Ultimate Tribute – part four Paris from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

A huge project that’s been a real labour of love for me. See why the Parisian Pirates is considered by many to be the best and most lavish version of the legacy rides. Go back to the origins of the ride, how it was changed from previous versions, how and why the storyline was altered and how it was designed and laid out and built. Also take a look at all the major changes made since 1992. Then take a full, shot in 4K tour of the attraction from outside, a detailed look at the queue, and on to the lavish load dock. I took care as much as possible to make each shot appear how the ride does. Not too dark, not too bright. Experience a full, huge multi angle edit of the ride covering every detail. Similarly I’m quite proud of the all new source and clean live audio mix I’ve slaved away at. Disembark, browse the store, walk outside, then take a full tour of Captain Jacks restaurant. Jump on the steam train to see the ride from the railroad, then take a look around the expanded attraction area at dusk. This ones been a project of passion for me. I started editing it a year ago and ended up with footage from 15 rides over 2 separate trips. I hope you think it was worth it.

Big Thunder Mountain 2021 by Martin part three – Paris

Big Thunder Mountain 2021 by Martin part three – Paris from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

by on Jun.05, 2021, under Disneyland Park (Paris), Disneyland Resort Paris, Frontierland

The last in this series covering all 4 Thunder Mountains. See the origins of the Parisian version, why it was built where it was and how it ties into the backstory of Frontierland. Follow its design, how it varies from previous versions, and construction.

Next see why many consider this the best version of the attraction in a full, multi angle shot in 4K tour of Frontierland, the queue line and the ride itself. Since they are closely linked and the mountain is visible from her, next take a highlights tour on the Molly Brown to see the mountain from all angles, then after sundown take a night ride on Thunder Mountain too. Audio is a clean live / source audio mix.
