Tag: Classic Epcot Center
The first of my totally re edited Futureworld edits. Over ten years ago I first created my “Ultimate Tributes” and now they’re showing their age. Each one has been re built from scratch with far better quality, more footage and more angles, more art and construction material, far better higher resolution graphics and much higher quality, brand new audio mixes – with more clean live and source audio than before. Each video clip has been enhanced, cleaned as much as I can, and any screen flicker removed as much as possible.
Start back at the origins of EPCOT Center as the park we know began to emerge and the centrepiece attraction and theme developed. See how the building developed, the storyline progressed, and how the ride fits inside. Following a full construction section and dedication highlights take a trip through the 1982 version via art, models, vintage film clips and recreations and with a new audio mix. After riding take a full tour of Futurecom in Communicore West.
Next fast forward to 1986 to see the changes that were made, then walk into the building for a full multi camera ride of the Cronkite version with new footage and a new clean audio mix. See a brand new recreation of 180top, capturing the style and feeling of the complex show scene and take a descent to a brand new Tomorrows Child mix. On exiting the ride see the complete overhead Earthstation Futureworld film projection and take a look at the Worldkey Information System.
These new tributes have been a real labour of love and in production for over a year. Whilst there’s only so much that can be done with recordings of the era I hope you’ll agree they are far better than the previous versions and are some of the best available to the fan community.
He’s back to change the world! Walk into Epcot’s Magic Eye theatre for the full 2010 preshow in source quality.
Then take your seat in the main theatre for the full mainshow, recorded several years ago in Disneyland without a recording ban. For best possible quality and to capture the magic for posterity, this was shot:
With a polarizing lens for 2D
And then was colour corrected and processed with several filters to reveal as much detail as possible and to eliminate almost all visible flicker.
With stereo source audio.
Finally, an edit I’ve always wanted to do. Starting with a full concepts and construction section, trace the attractions development back to a Futureworld ride through, the changes to a theatre show and early plans. Next see how the show was designed and built, how a technological marvel operates, and the opening dedication.
Next take a full tour both outside and inside, including a full look at all the artwork, furniture and flags on both lobby levels.
Walk into the theatre and experience the full show, shot from multiple angles in full HD for complete coverage. Each rear projected piece of art was either resampled and composited or scanned from original artwork, and then re-animated to match the projected version exactly with no blur, shake or flicker. The audio was remixed in stereo matching original attraction dialogue, sound effects and stereo musical scores for a source quality stereo soundtrack. Includes the full 2007 source quality Golden Dream finale.
After the show, walk around the exterior looking at various details and finally see the changes to the pavilion since 1982, from the minor to the 1993 animatronic replacement with a side by side comparison plus a source quality complete original 1982 Golden Dream and the full 1993 version too.
Shot with a relaxed video ban. 65 minutes long. Enjoy!
The whole Water Engine show that ran from 1982 to 1996 in World of Motions Transcenter. Very rare footage, provided by Widen Your World and shot all on tripod from 3 angles. Since the show was very wide with separate vertical screens, shooting this way has enabled a composite to be assembled presenting the complete show as it was originally seen.
Enjoy this little piece of the parks history as never seen before on the web
October 1 2012 in full. Arriving at Epcot at sunrise, see the lines outside the park and then rope drop. Sample the park atmosphere, see the crowds in World Showplace for the speeches, then see a part of the 3pm rededication “moment” at American Gardens Theatre. Go inside the Odyssey, and then watch the fall 2012 version of Reflections of Earth shot in multi angle HD with a new source music / live pyro mix. Following the regular show is a full multi angle edit of the special 30th anniversary tag, again with source music/ live pyro. Finally, as crowds leave cross an almost empty park for the end of an amazing day. 46 minutes long. Enjoy!
Finally, the complete 1982 EPCOT Center Imagination 3D movie, shot by Mike Lee at Widen Your World on a tripod with a polarising lens. With his permission, I joined both parts into one file, synced up the full stereo source audio track and removed 75-80% of the screen flicker. To preserve quality this is an MPEG file, not divx.
Here we go, the first of a brand new history trilogy. I thought it was time I covered this pavilion properly and group all the attractions in the correct time period.
Travel back, way back, to 1975 to see the origins of a pavilion based on the Land in the EPCOT Theme Center. Move through 1978’s Ecology pavilion and see how and why the direction and design changed, including early designs for the 1982 pavilion. This is followed by a full construction section of the pavilion itself and the interior attractions, through to October 1982. Next, is a full 1982 layout tour of the pavilion and the various attractions within.
Take a tour of the original Kraft pavilion, shot in the late 80`s and early 90`s, the food court and the farmers market. This is followed by a full multi angle video ride on Listen to the Land with a good live audio mix. Next, line up in the holding area for The Kitchen Kabaret, with the whole show presented as a new high quality multi camera edit with full source audio. Once the show has ended, enter The Harvest Theatre and watch in full Symbiosis, with a clean live audio mix.
65 minutes long, with parts 2 and 3 to follow soon. Enjoy!
A research project that turned into a full video. With the help of Craig Mathieson and John Werner, ex WED employees who helped design the original Imageworks, see the layout of the original upstairs level of the pavilion and also each and every original exhibit. See what changed during the rehab of 1990-1991 and how the layout altered, then see each new exhibit. See the original fountain garden of 1982, what has changed, then as a bonus go into the Magic Eye Theatre; see 4 minutes of Makin’ Memories with source audio – the only known video recording of the preshow, and then see the very rare Dreamfinder 2D introduction to Magic Journeys by Michael Jittlov that was never used and never shown to any guests. And finally, see a remastered copy of the first 12 minutes of Magic Journeys, shot live with source audio.
47 Imaginative minutes long. Enjoy!
2 60 minute videos documenting Innoventions and the changes made from Communicore. An in depth research project.
Part One: Take a tour of Communicore east and west, seeing the building designs, layouts and history. Follow the changes outside to
the central plaza and fountain made for Daredevil Circus and Splashtacular, then see the detailed changes to the buildings design and
layout in 1994 for Innoventions. Next, take a tour of the original Innoventions including full Alectronic presentation, Motorola
presentation, Walt Disney Imagineering Labs (1995) House of Innoventions (2001) and much more.
Part Two: Begin with the full Radiology: Medicines New Vision show and Monsanto presentation. Next, see how Centorium became Mouse Gear, what happened to the Epcot Discovery Center, Ice Station Cool, Stargate and Sunrise Terrace. See the changes made to Electric Umbrella, Pasta Piazza and Fountainview. Then, see what remains today of the old Communicore entrances and layouts and changes made to the plaza. This is followed by a 7 minute split screen comparison of 1990 and 2008 – taking dozens of key video clips shot around Communicore in 1990, each angle was reshot as it appears today. See what used to be where, and what isn`t there anymore. Next is a look at the Innoventions fountain shows, the fountain and stage history, and a look at key fountain shows; The Rocketeer from 1995 with no plaza canopies, then present day shows of Surprise in the Skies (night), Iron Will (night), Fanfare (theme from DisneySea) (day), Celebrate the Future (day) and Standing in Motion (night with one hell of an electrical storm backdrop!) Finish off with a look around Innoventions plaza at night.
Experience October 1st, 2007 in all its glory again. Begin the day outside the park, then enter the turnstyles at 8am. Join the crowds heading for the fountain, and soak up the atmosphere before rope drop. As the park opens, rush to the stage, watch the crowds build, and enjoy the entire re-dedication ceremony, all in multi angle video and remastered audio. Then take a tour of the 25th exhibition, with details of some of the more unusual art on display and see what the Conversation with Marty Sklar had to offer. As the skies darken, take refuge from the deluge and end up in Odyssey for the C25 dessert buffet. 55 minutes long!
Dodge the downpour and take the walk to Italy to watch IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth in all its multi camera, source score/live pyro splender. This is a new edit of the show I`ve made from Octobers footage. Then watch the once-only 25th tag again with multi camera angles and source score/live pyro. See the 25th laser projection on Spaceship Earth in full, and watch Jim McPhee pop by to say thanks to the fans. Then take a walk around Showcase south after the park has closed listening to the live vintage music playing. Back to Italy for the show hardware float-past followed by the Inferno barge burnoff, then leave the park in the early hours of October 2nd with no one else inside! This video runs for 32 Minutes. Thanks to C33 and Horizons for the RoE tag audio recordings. Enjoy!
