by on Apr.20, 2012, under Epcot, Future World, Walt Disney World

Now the attraction is closed for its makeover, go back to the mid 90s for an expanded concept, design and construction story and why the attraction opened 18 months later than planned.

Then, mastered in full HD, take a trip around the outside of the pavilion followed by full multi angle coverage of both the standby and Fastpass line exhibits.

Next, see the full preshow with split screen main and side monitor with an ALD audio track.

Follow the line through load, then take a full multi angle video, clean live and induction audio ride with a picture in picture LCD monitor.

This is followed by full postshow coverage, a look at changes to the pavilion and ride since 1998, and a tour and ride at night. 60 minutes long.

Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management

by on May.07, 2011, under Adventureland, Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World

Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

Since this version of the show is now extinct I thought it was time to release a video. Whilst I didn’t capture everything I wanted to due to the unplanned closure, I was fortunate enough to obtain 5 HD angles of the show itself. I also was able to incorporate DV footage of the exterior I had shot prior to going HD. After a great introduction by ETRUNM Cast Members, enjoy the preshow with multi angle HD video and a clean live audio track. Walk into the main theatre and see the whole mainshow in multi camera HD video with a source / ALD audio track.

Magic Journeys 2D

Magic Journeys 2D from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

Finally, the complete 1982 EPCOT Center Imagination 3D movie, shot by Mike Lee at Widen Your World on a tripod with a polarising lens. With his permission, I joined both parts into one file, synced up the full stereo source audio track and removed 75-80% of the screen flicker. To preserve quality this is an MPEG file, not divx.

Star Tours HD – Ultimate Tribute – 1 of 2 from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

Star Tours HD – Ultimate Tribute – 2 of 2 from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

Now the US versions of the original attraction have closed, here is an edit that was six months in the making.

Start way back with the history of attempting to use a motion base as an attraction, then see the developing relationship between George Lucas and Michael Eisner. Follow the ride planning, with a full concept and construction section for both parks. See the Disneyland opening, and changes added over the years. Next see the original Disney-MGM exteriors and also changes made over the years. This is followed by a full tour of the Disney’s Hollywood Studios exterior as it was before closing and a look at the differences to the preshow and boarding area layout. The take a full look at the Disneyland queue and preshow areas, again just before closing, shot by Chris Bales.

Next is the full multi camera, mostly tripod shot preshow in both the lower and upper rooms. All droids, Starspeeder effects, video wall, details, everything – both the R2D2/C3P0 and GT-4T and GT-9T preshows are shown in full from multiple angles, with source audio. Wander through the line taking in the details, arrive at load and watch the overhead monitor as your flight to the moon of Endor is prepared, followed by the safety video – again tripod shot with source audio. Next walk into your speeder for a split screen full ride using source ride film and incabin coverage of REX, the side video screen and the in-cabin effects. This is set to a new stereo source mix of the ride audio, remixed to bring the score forward more and with added incabin audio effects to sound just like the attraction did.

Finally, exit the Disneyland ride and walk into the store, then exit the Orlando version and walk into the store too. Finally, take a look at both closed attractions as the adventure gets ready to continue.

65 minutes long. Enjoy!

The Land 1 of 3 – 1982 – Ultimate Tribute

by on Aug.23, 2010, under Epcot, Future World, Walt Disney World

The Land 1 of 3 – 1982 – Ultimate Tribute from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

Here we go, the first of a brand new history trilogy. I thought it was time I covered this pavilion properly and group all the attractions in the correct time period.

Travel back, way back, to 1975 to see the origins of a pavilion based on the Land in the EPCOT Theme Center. Move through 1978’s Ecology pavilion and see how and why the direction and design changed, including early designs for the 1982 pavilion. This is followed by a full construction section of the pavilion itself and the interior attractions, through to October 1982. Next, is a full 1982 layout tour of the pavilion and the various attractions within.

Take a tour of the original Kraft pavilion, shot in the late 80`s and early 90`s, the food court and the farmers market. This is followed by a full multi angle video ride on Listen to the Land with a good live audio mix. Next, line up in the holding area for The Kitchen Kabaret, with the whole show presented as a new high quality multi camera edit with full source audio. Once the show has ended, enter The Harvest Theatre and watch in full Symbiosis, with a clean live audio mix.

65 minutes long, with parts 2 and 3 to follow soon. Enjoy!

Imagination 82 – The Original Imageworks

by on Oct.09, 2009, under Epcot, Future World, Walt Disney World

Imagination 82 – The Original Imageworks from Martins Videos on Vimeo.

A research project that turned into a full video. With the help of Craig Mathieson and John Werner, ex WED employees who helped design the original Imageworks, see the layout of the original upstairs level of the pavilion and also each and every original exhibit. See what changed during the rehab of 1990-1991 and how the layout altered, then see each new exhibit. See the original fountain garden of 1982, what has changed, then as a bonus go into the Magic Eye Theatre; see 4 minutes of Makin’ Memories with source audio – the only known video recording of the preshow, and then see the very rare Dreamfinder 2D introduction to Magic Journeys by Michael Jittlov that was never used and never shown to any guests. And finally, see a remastered copy of the first 12 minutes of Magic Journeys, shot live with source audio.

47 Imaginative minutes long. Enjoy!
