I have to point out I’ve simulated some of the ascension, space and descent scenes (using various methods from smoke guns at work to photoshopped still images being videoed to making my own monitor footage) but the results are all based on period sources and descriptions from 1982-6. Together they should show what Spaceship was like to a guest on October 1st 1982.

Now the vid – starting at the concept stage from when the ride was mainly behind a domed building, track the development through design and construction to the dedication ceremony. Then take a 1982 multi angle ride, using re -edited Cronkite version video footage interspersed with the aforementioned clips I produced. Features a restored 1982 recording of the full Vic Perrin voiceover too.
